In this focus workshop with Conscious Nature author Josh Lane,
experience a powerful healing meditation that transforms stress and restores well-being.
The Inner Smile is an ancient practice utilized in Taoist meditation. Learn to infuse the bioenergetic structures of the body with Nature’s positive life force energy.
The difference in feeling, sensation and clarity of perception experienced before and after the meditation tends to be quite palpable for many practitioners. This practice is a potent way to invite peace, bliss, and joy into daily life. Simply put, it feels great!
In the Workshop:
We will briefly delve into the history of this nourishing practice and its transmission, and explore some of the essential energetic principles behind it. Learn keys to working consciously with Nature's life force for well-being and spiritual transformation.
With these insights as a foundation, you'll then experience a powerful guided meditation session. Answers to common practice questions are provided to help clarify and expand upon the teaching, so that you can deepen your practice with confidence. An audio recording of the complete guided meditation is included so you can practice with ease.
The Inner Smile is a powerful practice that can be explored for a lifetime and has been described as paradoxically both the “beginning and the capstone” of Taoist internal energetic practices. It is a prerequisite for many other energy skills but also stands alone as a superb practice for well-being.
About the Facilitator - Meet Josh Lane
Josh began his studies of Taoist internal energy arts as a teenager when a Tai Chi teacher saw him practicing martial arts in the forest once day; the teacher stopped and showed Josh the foundational postures of Zhang Zhuang ("Standing Like a Tree"). This encounter sparked Josh's interest in Qigong and led to finding other teachers wherever he traveled.
In college, Josh studied Yang style Tai Chi Chuan and Aikido. Later, he studied the Nan King Integrated Style intensively for six years with advanced students of Chang I-Chung at the Tai Chi Natural Health Club in Santa Cruz, California. During this time Josh also studied with Qigong Masters Mantak Chia and Lee Holden, and became certified as a Qigong instructor through the Santa Cruz Chi Center. Along the way, Josh sought out and learned from a variety of other Qigong teachers and healers.
Moving full circle, when Josh returned to the east coast, he found that the original mysterious "forest teacher" who sparked his internal arts journey happened to be teaching just down the road. This led to Josh studying 2nd Generation Yang Style Tai Chi intensively for the next five years with Hawksbrother, in the lineage of BP Chan. Josh has complemented his internal arts studies with ongoing experience in other systems including Hermetic Alchemy, Raja Yoga, and the legacy of energetic frameworks developed by Lewis Bostwick.
Even with all these experiences, Josh feels he is truly just getting started and has much gratitude for the dedication of all the teachers past and present who have helped him find benefit through these ancient practices. He brings what he has learned into his mentoring and coaching to help others deepen their direct experience of our true potential as energetic beings.
